Read the key issues explained by Buhari during the presidential media chat.

On his ministers declaring their assets
President Muhammadu Buhari has said he expects his appointees to abide by the constitution by declaring their assets.
Buhari, while responding to a question on assets declaration during the presidential media chat, said he would not force any appointee to declare.
“It is wrong to say I have not fully declared my assets. I have declared four times.
“The Ministry of Finance and the Code of Conduct Bureau have these records and I expect people to apply to have access.

“On why my Ministers have not declared, I don’t know.
“I cannot line them up and ask them to declare; I expect them to use common sense because it is in the constitution that they do so.”

On Sambo Dasuki
Former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has a long road to travel before getting any form of bail.
Indication of this emerged Wednesday night during President Muhammadu Buhari’s maiden media chat.
Ibanga Isine, one of the interviewers had called the attention of the president to the fact that Dasuki, and the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, among others granted bail by the courts, were being denied bail by the federal government.
Reacting, Buhari said many Nigerians were yet to understand the “gravity of the crimes these people committed”.
His words: “A former president wrote to the Central Bank Governor and asked him to give this man N40billion.
“You want such person to get bail to go see a doctor in London. What kind of country do you think we are running?
“Go and tell that to the 2 million IDPs in North-East
 Wearing of Hijab
President Muhammadu Buhari gave this indication during Wednesday’s presidential media chat.
Hijab is a veil that covers the head and chest and worn by some Muslim woman beyond the age of puberty in the presence of adult males outside of their immediate family.
Buhari, who expressed anger at the renewed spate of bombings, said he was considering banning the hijab to check attacks.
“I was in Chad and the ban is one of the measures they have adopted.
“We will have to take that option here in Nigeria if these senseless bombings go on,” the president told his interviewers.

 Chibok girls
President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that his government doesn’t know the whereabouts of the abducted Chibok girls.
The president made this disclosure during his first presidential chat on Wednesday.
Asked why the girls were yet to return from the Boko Haram’s den, the President said his government was yet to establish contact with the authentic leaders of the group.
“The honest truth is that I don’t know the actual place and state of the girls. The more reason we are trying to be very careful before we negotiate with any group. Before we negotiate with any group, we must make sure they show us the actual location of the girls. We must make sure they are complete.

“At the moment, we don’t really know if the girls are alive or not but from intelligence report, the insurgents have divided them into groups so we could not easily locate them.
