“I want to assure the corps members and all stakeholders who will participate in the rescheduled election and other activities, that Bayelsa will continue to be home to them.
“I like to use this opportunity to also commend them, these young wonderful Nigerians who came here to serve their fatherland.“The government of Bayelsa appreciates their sacrifice and will continue to partner with them to make our nation a better place,” Dickson added.
According to security operatives, frantic efforts are being made to salvage the corps members from the alleged troubled areas. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a security source disclosed that the whereabouts of some of the corps members are still unknown, adding that some of the corps members were injured while others were allegedly kidnapped during the attacks.
As alleged by the security source, the attacks have been blamed on party thugs and ex-militants carrying out the order of their sponsors.
